7th Grade Sketching Assignments

1)  In pencil, do three detailed drawings of your hand in different positions holding an object.  Each sketch should fill the page or at least be drawn life size.  Include lots of detail and perhaps some shading to enhance your drawing.  NO HAND TRACING!

2)  Do four sketches in your sketch pad selected from the options below:

        -a self portrait in pencil

        -a landscape in color

-an animal in color with a background

-an additional hand drawing in pencil

-a word illustration of a noun(person, place, or thing).  Don’t forget that each letter if the word should be made from things that                             relate to, or are associated with that word.  This must be in color.

-create a picture of your choice, but it MUST be done using at least three different types of materials.  For instance, a painting that also uses crayons and paper collage in it, or a colored pencil drawing done over a watercolor background with details added in ink pen, or a drawing done in pencil that is enhanced with a little pastel and glitter.  The three materials you use don’t necessarily need to be classified as “art supplies”.  Think creatively!
